      Manager Interview

      Feb 15, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. in Jan 2024

      Interview

My experience with the interview at Visa was somewhat mixed. On one hand, I had a fairly decent experience overall. However, I couldn't help but notice a slight discrepancy between what was outlined in the job description and what was discussed during the interview. While the job description emphasized the need for strategic skills, the interviewer mainly focused on asking me about my motivations for choosing Visa and clarifying the operational nature of the role. Despite this misalignment, the interview seemed to be going well, with the interviewer even hinting at a positive outcome by asking about my plans for the weekend. However, after following up with the recruiter multiple times and receiving no response, I was eventually informed that the company had decided to move forward with another candidate without providing any feedback on why I wasn't selected. This lack of transparency in the decision-making process left me feeling somewhat misled and wondering about the criteria used for candidate selection. It made me question the effectiveness of Visa's interview process, especially for a position at that level. It seems crucial for there to be standardization and structure in the interview process, with a set of questions aligned with the required skills of the job, to ensure fairness and minimize bias. Furthermore, the fact that the interviewer viewed my LinkedIn profile after the interview but couldn't provide any feedback added to the confusion. It appears there's a need for better evaluation of hiring decisions and the overall candidate experience, with a focus on improving training and standardizing procedures to enhance the selection process.

Good friendly 3 rounds of interviews. Recruiter, manager and team. first round was with the Recruitor as a fast screening the second round was with the hiring manager for more in-depth assessment of the role of my fit. The third round was with two members of the team to understand the role bit more detail and not what they did.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Kuala Lumpur) in Aug 2025

      Interview

Good, The interview process was well-structured and engaging. It began with introductions, followed by behavioral and fit-based questions to assess cultural alignment. A technical case study was then shared to evaluate problem-solving and business acumen, before moving into an open Q&A session. The format allowed me to showcase both strategic thinking and practical execution skills, while also giving space to ask insightful questions about the role and the company. Overall, it provided a clear view of expectations and a fair opportunity to demonstrate my strengths.
