Volusion interview questions

Entered the process through a referral. Spoke with a recruiter who said they were moving me on to the next step in the process. About a week later I received an email from the recruiter stating they had received feedback from the team and wanted to share. Turned out to be a rejection. I thanked them for calling to tell me, and asked if they could share the team's feedback, so I might be a better candidate in the future. They said they didn't have any. So the "feedback" was simply that they decided to pass. To Volusion: Can you see how that feedback isn't very helpful? While I appreciate that a phone call is a more personal way of letting rejected candidates down, I would suggest framing it in a context other than "feedback". True feedback is helpful and actionable. Simply telling someone they've been rejected without providing any insight into how they can improve isn't really feedback, it's just an update.

Phone screening w/technical recruiter, take-home test to display my skills ("build something that interacts with an API" was the only real requirement so it was pretty fun to be told to build really anything), technical interview with team member (relevant code exercise), and then an on-site meeting to talk to different people from the team I would be on and to other engineers. Then, the biggest surprise, getting some time with the CEO to discuss the company and ask questions. Overall probably the best interview I've ever had where I got to learn a lot about the company, the team, and meet skilled engineers.
