I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wake County Public Schools (Raleigh, NC) in Jun 2016
Interview
You get a call from a principal or assistant principal, meet with them. Then you usually wait a few weeks to hear back. If they are interested, you must go to a new employee orientation before you can start. You will need to contact your school to let them know your start date.
There is an online application that is filled out and submitted. Then I was contacted to set up a Zoom or in-person interview. At the interview, I met with a panel of interviewers consisting of members of the administration team, someone from the grade level, and reading specialists/interventionists.
1 interview, heard back the following week. Very thorough interview with scenario based questions. It lasted about 30 minutes. Clear communication on what the next steps would be and when I would hear back.
Th interview process was very easy. They communicated well and gave me the opportunity to talk with current employees. The onboarding process was smooth as well. They also answered a lot of my questions and offered a tour of the school on my second interview.
