I am writing this review to share my negative experience with the product management interview process at Walmart Labs. I recently applied for a product management position and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. During the interview, I was asked questions about product improvements, product strategy, and metrics. However, every time I answered a question, the hiring manager would get confrontational and disagree with everything I said. Instead of having a constructive conversation, the hiring manager would go on to explain how he would do it and how his ideas were superior. I found this behavior to be highly unprofessional and disrespectful. It felt like the hiring manager was not interested in understanding my perspective or having a productive conversation, but rather just wanted to assert his own ideas and superiority. As a candidate, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism during the interview process. Unfortunately, my experience with the product management interview process at WalMart Labs did not meet my expectations.
I interviewed at Walmart Global Tech (Bentonville, AR)
Interview
The interview process consisted of 4 rounds of interviews. One with the hiring manager as a phone interview, one with with some of the team, then the hiring manager and 2 others from the team, and final interview with the director. The questions were scenario based with some knowledge/experience based questions as well.
