I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Walmart (Dallas, TX) in Mar 2020
Interview
Had my first round with a Director level person and it felt more like a screening. He touched upon all the machine learning concepts like Linear Regression, Ridge, Lasso, Gradient Descent, PCA, k-means clustering etc, but all at a very superficial level
It was not that bad, 3 initial rounds overall okay, it would have been nice if they added some more depth in questions and asked good questions.
and it would have been great if they call or tell something before interview.
terrible Data Scientist role interview process, took 3 months and got rejected after final interview where the interviewer didn't have my resume and asked something else which the recruiter did not mention to prepare
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Bentonville, AR) in Mar 2026
Interview
A recruiter phone call and then a coding round. SQL medium + predictive modeling. I think the modeling task could be a take-home assignment. However, the test was closed before the promised time. It was a 89-minute test.
