I was contacted by a Wayfair recruiter via LinkedIn. The message was personalized to me and my experience, stating they had a role I might be interested in. I responded to the recruiter that I would be interested to learn more about the role and we scheduled a call. The recruiter called me at the specified time and we talked for about 30 minutes. The recruiter asked pretty standard "tell me about you" questions and a few questions that were more specific to the role. The recruiter then took a few high level questions from me. Over all the conversation was very positive and energetic on both side. The call ended with the recruiter asking if I would like her to send me more details on the specific role and she indicated that she would recommend me for a initial call with the hiring manager who she mentioned by first name. I said that would be great and looked forward to the next steps. The following day I sent a short email to the recruiter thanking her for her time. One week after the phone screen with the recruiter I sent a short follow up note expressing my interest in the role, and seeing the role description. Now about a week and a half after the phone call, I've still had no response at all from the recruiter. I understand recruiters are very busy right now but ghosting is not a great way to build your brand especially for higher level roles.
