Applied online and was contacted by a recruiter a short time later. Requested accommodations for interviews and was treated like I was trying to gain an advantage. Required overreaching amounts of medical documentation, including details unrelated to the accommodations or interviews. Eventually, I just decided to interview without accommodation to avoid the hassle.
Interviewer has been with the company for 18 years, but based on feedback for the recruiter, did not pay attention during the interview. Additionally, a coding challenge was presented that was inappropriate for my primary language and would have required writing custom versions of data structures in order to compile. I noted the issues during the interview, but none of that seems to have been considered when I was given low marks for the code not compiling. It had no chance of doing so because I was not providing complete implementations of data structures to solve a 20 minute coding challenge. At no time did the interviewer express concern regarding the direction I went or in the issues with the challenge being clearly intended for a different language.
The interviewer did admit that he had never done an interview where a candidate chose C++. He also said they had no coding challenges for PHP, even though they use it extensively.
I am completely astonished at the incompetence at such a high level and recommend real engineers avoid like the plague.
