No confidence in their hiring practices.
I had two phone interviews for two different positions. First, I interviewed for the Community Manager position -- there seemed to be a very obvious fit given my years of experience managing operations for multiple high profile progressive workspaces in Seattle. Upon discussion of the salary range, it was clear the WeWork compensation for the Community Manager role was much less than what I was currently making so I respectfully declined a further interview. However, I did let the recruiter know I would be interested in other opportunities should the right role arise.
A month later, I was asked to interview over the phone for a Community Lead position and to discuss the compensation, this time I was talking to a Community Manager who I would be working under? At that point, having read the Glassdoor reviews, it seems WeWork is hiring folks with a lack of experience and trusting those people to make hiring decisions.
Doesn't instill a lot of confidence! Also makes me think they're wasting my time. Lo and behold, I did not get an offer but probably for the best.
