I recently accepted a position with another company and have gone through several interview processes recently. However, I was not compelled to leave any reviews until this specific interview process, especially due to many others in this forum feeling the same way and having a similar experience. Be very careful getting your hopes up with this company despite how confident you may feel.
Based on the language and feedback I received throughout my experience, I was led to believe I was a top contender for the role. Before reaching the final round, I received only a phony, automated rejection email that began with
“Hey ___!” and included no feedback, despite the significant time and effort I put into this process. Because the interviewers spoke so positively about my skills and great fit for the team, receiving no explanation for why I wasn’t moved forward left me confused and disappointed. Offering candidates some insight into the decision, even briefly, can make a significant difference. Acknowledging strengths is one thing, but creating the strong impression that someone is a top candidate without providing closure or feedback just comes off as very disingenuous to me. Had I received any feedback at all, I would have fully respected the decision and walked away with a much more positive impression of the process.
