I applied in-person. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Philadelphia, PA) in Jul 2017
Interview
One interview on phone and then another at the store I applied at. Interviews were upfront and easy. I have been applying for jobs at Wegmans stores in my area since last 1 year. Every time I get interviews and then they never offer job. At all of the Wegmans stores in my area I see Caucasian people working and may be 1-2 employees of other races. I don't want to jump to conclusions but perhaps they prefer hiring Caucasians only and they only hire other races to meet their quota required by the Govt.
I applied online. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Johnson City, NY) in Jun 2017
Interview
After putting in an application online, I received a phone call to schedule my phone interview. Did the phone interview then got called for personal interview. Pretty basic stuff and unlike a lot of people say, the interview was not hard. If you can think on your feet its super easy. People also complained about how there were two interviewers, but unlike them, I asked why they did that. They more than happy to explain that one was an HR rep and the other was my would-be boss. It's not meant to throw you off or be aggressive and they were both super friendly to me.
After the interview, my would-be boss gave me a very detailed tour of the store and explained what my job would be like. I would say that you probably passed the interview if they do a detailed walk-through of the store with you, as that would be a huge waste of time to do with every person they interview.
The one thing I will say is that there background check is pretty thorough. Don't leave anything out during the phone interview because they will find it. That being said, you can be creative with explaining bad past employers. Almost every employer will refuse to say the exact reason why you were fired or what happened before you quit. You can tell the story so that it favors you.

Question 1
How would you go about trying to sell a Wegmans product to a customer instead of name-brand?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets
Interview
Applied online; received email to set up a phone interview; set up phone interview; phone interview was a half hour long; passed phone interview and went for on-site interview. If you're applying, look through the questions posted here on Glassdoor and write down your answers to them. Study them. They will ask you EVERYTHING about your prior employers in the phone interviews. They want EXACT dates. I passed the phone interview and in-person interview and was offered the position, but then they did an employment background check (even after they had asked me everything about past employers on the phone), and there were some things I had left off. Done. If you have anything shady about your past employment, DO NOT apply at Wegmans. It was a ridiculously long and humiliating experience for me. It's a grocery store, not the Secret Service.
