I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Whiting-Turner (Palo Alto, CA) in Nov 2014
Interview
I had 3 interviews, lunch, and a job site walk. I was the only person interviewing at the time. Very straight forward interview. It was pretty typical as far as general contractor interviews go. It seemed like they cared more about my personality and how I interacted with the employees, from the project engineer to the project manager and superintendent.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Whiting-Turner (Sacramento, CA) in Oct 2025
Interview
Smooth overall. Group interview with a PE and two PM's. Asked a little bit about my experience. Mostly explained what they did as a company. Everyone was very relaxed and it was an upbeat environment.

Screening interview followed by a phone interview then they paid for me to travel out to the office and complete several interviews from team members and the VP. They paid for a hotel, dinner, and team lunch.
