Interview
I applied online and was contacted a few weeks later. The person who contacted me did an initial interview over the phone. She asked if I was okay with the hours and why I wanted to work for whole foods. She asked what I knew about the position and what about the position appealed to me. Then she set an interview date for about a week later. My initial interview was with 2 people (not the woman I spoke with on the phone.) They asked the typical questions: why do you want to work here, tell me about past work experiences, what are your weaknesses. And then they told me a lot about the position and what it entailed. I was also told at this time about a process called: "due diligence." It's where you speak with other people in the store about the position. They tell you what they think the position entails, what the person in this position should know, and where they would like to see the position go. The person who interviewed me told me that this process was very important and they would not hire someone whom they felt did not do their due diligence. After the initial interview, I set up mini-interviews with 4 people that they recommended. I had to travel to 3 separate locations to speak with everyone. It was actually really helpful though to get a greater picture of what to expect from the job. After my due diligence was done, they set-up a panel interview. I had about 7 - 8 people on my panel. Some I knew from doing due diligence, but others were new. They also asked pretty typical questions, but related it to the job position. The due diligence also helped here and it gave me a lot of information to pull from. Even though the panel part of it was pretty intimidating, the people were all really nice and I felt like they were rooting for me! Make sure to have a good answer to the question: "tell me about yourself" and make sure to relate your answer to the position. I do recommend doing research about the company and job position. And make sure you do thorough due diligence because it will help a lot! The whole process took about a month, but everyone I spoke to told me how much they absolutely love working for whole foods, so it will hopefully be worth it!

Question 1
The most difficult question for me was how I deal with difficult people on my team. This was also unexpected, because it wasn't clear to me that this would be a management position.
