They first conduct a pre screening phone interview (TMs from the store call and ask why you want to work for whole foods, and sometimes ask random personality questions like "what is your favorite movie, and why?", and then candidates usually meet with store leadership, and then the 2nd interview is with leadership from the team they are applying to. Some positions require a panel interview. The panel is usually made up of 6 people from the store: Leadership and Team Members. They also started doing group interviews for cashier positions.

I interview first with the customer service assistant team leader who asked a few questions like
“Why do you want to work here?”
“What can you bring to this company”
I was also asked if I could name 3 kinds of apples..
I was asked to come back the next day to meet the team leader and they asked me maybe 4 questions and I was offered the job. Super easy, nothing crazy when applying for customer service

I interviewed at an opening store, so it was a huge group interview. We did icebreakers and several group activities, while the store's leadership observed us and would ask questions about our activities. We also did interview questions, but it was set up like speed dating so everyone was in a circle and would be asked one question before moving on to the next team leader.
