This was the most unprofessional and concerning interview process. There was no organization or basic professionalism. I received a voicemail asking if I wanted to interview. I called back to confirm and receive detailed info/confirmation about the interview. Instead of being able to talk to the manager who actually called, I only got to talk to a staff who first answered the phone (whom I believe was a leasing professional or a current assistant manager, was extremely unprofessional and had a major attitude). This person kept shouting out across the room to talk to whoever appeared to be the hiring manager throughout our phone conversation. The person I talked to on the phone asked if I could do an interview the following week. I was excited for the opportunity but I didn’t know what time/date or when it would take place. I had to specifically ask to confirm what date, time, and whether it would be a phone interview/ video interview or an in person interview. The person on the phone told me to hold up then continued to shout out to relay my questions. I asked if I would be receiving an email with the information or if there is an email address I can send an email to confirm the interview date/time. The person on the said “Uhh no. Just show up” then I still had to ask where would the interview take place.
I work with a lot of different customer service professionals and clients and this conversation made me feel appalled. I read the property’s reviews afterwards and experienced exactly what the current and prospective residents were saying online : “ratchetness and unprofessionalism with just bought of professionalism to shut you off”
I ended up connecting with people who used to work for the company and are in the field then decided to withdraw my application. If the first interview was going to be this unprofessional and unorganized, I could only imagine what it would be like to actually work there.
Hopefully the corporate office or the HR streamline the interview/ hiring process for the future of this company.
