      Corporate Sales Development Interview

      Oct 24, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Dublin, Dublin
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Workday (Dublin, Dublin) in Oct 2016

      Interview

There was an initial screening call from recruitment / HR which was straight-forward and friendly. Then a call was organised with who your manager would be. This was originally scheduled as a Skype Call but changed to a regular phone-call. They were great at facilitating call times during lunch or outside of regular working hours which was great especially if you're still currently working full-time. They are very accommodating in this instance but they do like things to move fast which suited me too as I don't like interview processes to drag out for months. Last was a face-to-face interview (a little under 2 hours duration) with two managers and a senior current employee presently in the role. Everyone was lovely but professional too and the interview questions were very fair and allowed you to have a regular conversation rather than having the interviewers read questions from a sheet of paper and not engage. This was a breath of fresh air and felt very respectful to the candidate to conduct the interview this way. There was also a role-play phone call as part of the face-to-face interview which was slightly awkward but again I was put at ease and given very fair feedback. The important thing here is to prove you are a good listener and ask open-ended questions in relation to what you've been told already on the 'call'. The feedback I received was good and fair. My introduction on the call was too long which I knew in the moment I had messed up slightly with nerves but I got good feedback on my listening skills and the questions I asked. Overall the vibe of the place seemed great and I didn't get the impression of a false cult-like vibe that I have had interviewing at other companies where they rely on static negative robotic 'trendy' questions. Prepare for the usual-type interview questions just in case but I did find it was overall a great chance to have a natural-enough conversation about your ability and be given the chance to ask questions rather than waiting for this after a list of bombardment of written-down questions. Also, have some examples to questions you may be asked that you could draw on. There were no overly negative questions asked and nothing was thrown at you purposefully to make you uneasy or test your response. If you get to the face-to-face stage, I think so long as you gel enough with the interviewers and can have a decent conversation, you'll be fine! You got to that stage for a reason so it's really for them to confirm that they think you'll be capable in person too judging by already feeling this way over the phone to progress you.

      Question 1

Nothing out of the ordinary to note. Google most popular sales interview questions for example and if you have an answer in your head for these, you'll be more than prepared. One negative question that stood out was to tell me about a time you had a disagreement with your manager. Obliviously be truthful and believable here but end with a positive spin on it if asked. There were no nasty questions to report.

      Interview

Drawn out process over weeks. Very uncoordinated. Led to believe there was an offer then ghosted multiple times. Passed around between recruiters who were on spring break. I expected better communication and coordination from a company of this size.
