I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Workday (Vancouver, BC) in Nov 2024
Interview
The interview process was pretty quick and the recruiter got back the next day after the final interview round. The recruiter gave me a verbal offer for the position saying I did really well at the interview. I expressed being really grateful for the offer and asked if there was any room for negotiation. He did mention they'll definitely be willing to talk the numbers through and rerun the suggested numbers with the finance team and get back. I did give my numbers (slightly higher than they offered) with an explanation as to why I think it was justified. I did tell the recruiter to get back to me irrespective of the outcome with final numbers so we can work it through. The recruiter said he was definitely confident on getting at least few numbers changed and would definitely get back. I did not hear back for a week. I followed up after a week and the recruiter just told me they just decided not to go ahead with me. I was just shocked as to why was this decision randomly made after having such pleasant talk with a verbal offer. I asked for an explanation and the recruiter just responded with a sentence saying they could not change the numbers so the decision was made.
