I originally applied for a different role that already had a candidate identify so I was referred over to another recruiter for a different role. All well and good. I spoke to the recruiter and then the hiring. After this a series of case interviews, principal and director interviews were scheduled. In total there were 7 rounds of interviews. Before the final (7th) interview, the recruiter called to prep me. Again, great. I asked how the feedback had been thus far. The response was "i'm not privy to specific feedback but it must have been positive if you made it this far and less than 10% of our candidates make it to the final round." I had my final interview on a Tuesday and on Friday received an email, not a phone call noting that I was no longer being considered in favor of other candidates. Further it was noted that there was no "negative feedback"
World Wide Technology- If you are going to ask your candidates to go through this many rounds of interviews you have to do better! It is disrespectful and unacceptable to ask people to spend this much time and then give them literally nothing in the end. If you're not going to make an offer, fine. At least have the decency to explain why.
