      Graduate Scheme Interview

      Mar 9, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Crick, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at XPO (Crick, England) in Jan 2024

      Interview

Online application, followed up by a telephone interview and two-day assessment centre. The group exercises have nothing to do with logistics and all to do with problem solving puzzles collaboratively. A case study was given in the evening for you to present before your interview the following morning. A surprise group exercise was also given that morning, ranking the prioritisation of certain criteria under time constraints and presenting it to the assesors.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Generic interview questions. E.g., "give us an example of when you showed resilience."

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at XPO

      Interview

I applied online then had a quick phone interview asking about basic competencies with a couple of rogue questions to throw you off. I passed and I had to complete numerical and verbal reasoning tests. Following this, I was invited to an assessment day, including an overnight stay at a hotel. The assessment day starts with a networking session then you have to briefly introduce yourself to the whole group (about 25 other graduates) and about 12 assessors. Then it's a presentation about the company followed by group tasks- standard teamwork and leadership tests. After this, you receive a case study and have to prepare a presentation for the following day. This is quite difficult if you don't have a business background or any experience working in a warehouse. While you are preparing people are taken away one at a time for an interview. Some of the questions here were weird, keep your answers concise while still showing your personality. They will try to get you to relax and slip up, don't make this mistake. In the evening there's dinner and drinks. The next morning you give the presentation to two of the assessors, during mine I was asked a lot of specific questions. We had a site visit to one of their warehouses then they said thank you and sent us on our way. The next day I received a phone call saying that I had been unsuccessful due to being under-prepared for the presentation, arrogant and I did not make it clear that I really wanted the job. I don't think that was fair, but now I've found something better so maybe it just wasn't the right fit for me. All the XPO employees are very friendly and welcoming, ask lots of questions, don't be late, and prepare for your presentation. Weirdly, they don't seem to like Russell Group Unis so be aware of that.

      Graduate Scheme Interview

      Apr 12, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Liverpool, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at XPO (Liverpool, England) in Apr 2018

      Interview

Online application and then skype interview. The recruitment team didnt notify time change when i sitted before my PC waiting for the interview. After 10 minutes, i got an email saying the time had changed. We changed to another time slot. THE MOST UNACCEPTABLE is the rearranged interview. No one turned up at all. I had been waiting for 30 minutes before the PC like an idiot. No message from skype nor from email. I cannt believe this company acts in this way. I choose to believe the online negative comments on this "great" company.
