I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2012
Interview
I applied online. I got an email from the recruiter to select a time block for a phone interview with a sales manager. The entire phone interview was less than 10 minutes. She probably asked about 5-6 questions, why do you want to work here, what do you know about yelp, what's your experience, etc. I don't think she was listening to me...it felt rushed.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
