      Account Executive Interview

      May 25, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp

      Interview

I applied for Yelp through their website, and got an e-mail from them in a couple weeks. We set up a time to talk with a recruiter about a week later. The phone call itself was quick, about 30 minutes, and nothing too difficult. The recruiter asked me about my past jobs, and why I am interested in working for Yelp. There were a couple questions asking about times that I struggled, what I did to persevere to eventually close the sale. After the call, I got an e-mail a few days later to come in for a face to face interview with some managers. The face to face interview consisted of meeting with three different managers, one at a time. Each time, they asked basic questions, like my history and why I would fit in with Yelp. Each manager did a role play exercise as well, which was not difficult. With each role play, they critique you, and you have to adjust your style with the next manager. I think that they are looking for people who are open to feedback, so I suggest taking notes. They had me pitch Yelp advertising to them, and had me sell them on why Yelp, and not any other company. Overall, it was a great experience, and each manager was very helpful in terms of helping me fix my sales pitch. After about another week, I got a call from another recruiting manager congratulating me on getting the position. I got an offer via e-mail, and accepted it.
