I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Yelp in Dec 2021
Interview
There was an initial 20 minute phone call, followed by a 20 minute video call and then another video call with a different interviewer. They ask to submit a writing test and references. The whole process took two months (over the holidays).

Interview
2 phone calls, 1 Skype interview, 1 in-person interview, 1 writing sample, for a position that’s 10-15 hours a week. I have contributed a ton of valuable content to Yelp for many years, have had several positions closely related to this job, and interviewed objectively very well, but they instead offered the position to someone who had never heard of or used Yelp before. It seemed they wanted to give it to someone who had lived in the city their entire life and that mattered much more than qualifications, background, or experience with Yelp. The candidate they chose and some of their questions (“what’s your spirit animal?”) showed that they don’t value professionalism very much. Completely disappointed with the process and with Yelp as a company.

Interview
I applied online, then received an email about a phone call that we both scheduled a couple of days later. Then to prepare for the interview I went onto Glassdoor to see the questions that would be asked. (Which is why I am writing this review, to pay my dues). After a successful phone interview I was given a three-question writing quiz. Then an in-person interview. (This is where I feel I may be able to help out others) For the interview, I read one of the questions would be about how I would market the brand in my local area. So I created a PowerPoint/ marketing plan for the interview. I researched all of the reviews of different categories and talked about what categories would help Yelp appeal to tourists. Sure enough, the question was asked and I was quite prepared. I believe this gave me a leg up on the job. Then the next day I was offered the position.
