I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2015
Interview
Went into this interview fairly confident. The phone interview went really well, just prepare for a role play scenario and be expecting feedback to act upon. When I walked into the in-person interview another person was sitting in the reception area too which threw me off because we were interviewing for the same job! The woman that gave us the tour assured us we were not competition. The whole in person interview was very misleading. When they give you the tour they are acting like you got the job and showing you "where you're desk will be", "where you will be eating", "where you will train", and so on. So when the interview began I thought I had it in the bag. The interview was not like any other reviews on here said. You meet with two people. The first person I met with was so standoff-ish. She would hardly look me in the eye and wrote down everything I said. When we did the role play she acted unimpressed with how I conducted it (mind you I have ZERO sales experience and the job required ZERO experience). Then the second guy came in and acted so unprofessional. He claimed to have forgotten the interview questions he prepared for me so we just did another role play. This one when better especially since I could act on the feedback he gave me. I left the interview feeling very confident. However neither recruiter asked me about anything on my resume or past qualifications. I was counting on this job but turns out I wasn't "qualified enough". So there's that. Thank you for wasting my time.

The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
