      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2020

      Interview

The interview was through Zoom with two separate managers. The questions were based on Star Interview which is primarily on behavioral. For the position offered, which was remote this was completely inconsistent and incompatible. The questions should have been based more on technology e.g. software such as microsoft office etc. The position itself was not detailed nor would they provide any specifics as to what the position entailed. It was very "cloak and dagger." In fact I was not looking or applied for this position. I was contacted by a zillow recruiter. I was required to sign through docusign a confidentiality form prior to being interviewed! Neither manager could answer basic questions regarding the position. Not if it was a temp position or permanent. At one point I was informed that my Realtor License would be active only through Zillow. I would not be allowed to continue as a Realtor in sales or transaction. No way would I ever give Zillow control over my realtor license. I am not even sure I understand how they could do that. Zillow is trying to become the "One Stop" to Real Estate. I stopped the interview process and said thanks but no thanks. It came across to me as a very cut-throat and competive even within the 4 walls of Zillow

      Question 1

Completely irrelevant to the position being applied for in this case a remote position involving research e.g what was the hardest thing I ever had to tell someone?

Thank you so much for your feedback and the time that you took to meet with our team. We form our interview questions around our core values. This may at times not feel directly related to the role, but all of our core values are a part of each position here at Zillow. As it relates to limited information, we strive to be clear and transparent with all information, although there is occasion when we may not have all of the answers because this may be a new role with little or no precedence. We appreciate your feedback greatly and will take this into consideration moving forward. If you would like to share more, you can reach me at annie@zillowgroup.com. -Annie Rihn, VP of Recruiting

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Zillow in Oct 2020

      Interview

Originally contacted by a recruiter. She was so helpful during this whole process. I had a virtual interview with two Zillow employees. Each interview was about 30 minutes long. Both individuals conducting the interview were very polite.
