I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2018
Interview
After applying for the job, I didn't hear any word for nearly a month and a half. Then I was scheduled to have a phone screen with the hiring manager.
During the initial phone screen, I spoke with the manager who'd only been there a couple of months. It was quite clear that she hadn't taken the time to review my resume, work history, or writing portfolio. In addition, I also learned I had more experience as a marketing writer than she did. And when I told her that the internal recruiter had changed the job description a bit, she had no knowledge of what I was talking about.
Regardless, I was subsequently issued a "writing test" with 48 hours to complete. It was fairly easy despite having no marketing strategy or background information from which to complete the assignment. I completed it and returned it. I was then notified by auto-email that I was no longer a candidate. I followed with my recruiter and received no response.
All in all, it was quite unprofessional and makes Zillow look like a subpar organization not committed to developing and hiring the right talent.

Question 1
"Have you ever worked with a creative brief?" Which, every marketing writer should have experience with. In all my years writing I've never once been asked this question as the answer should be quite obvious.
