Overall a good experience. Recruiter gave good advice to help prep. It was a 4 step process: Recruiter phone screen, phone call with hiring manager, take home test focused on manufacturing/design/GDT, then a half day presentation + panel interview

How would you minimize the space between electrical connectors on a panel
Grilled on technical questions from resume for first round - did not make it past this round - emphasis on projects I have worked on - know them in and out, very rushed and specific interviewer was tough

Chassis project - describe load cases required for FEA
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Zoox (Foster City, CA) in Feb 2024
Interview
There were overall 3 total rounds. First round was an interview with the hiring manager which lasted around 45 mins. Next was a half day onsite interview with 6 interviews + a 45 minute technical presentation. After I got positive feedback for my on site round, I had a 30 min chat with the VP of the org.
Overall everybody i talked to was extremely professional and pleasant to talk to. I never felt I was being grilled, it felt like a 2 way conversation. The questions asked to me were very interesting and the interviews were interactive.
I like the hiring manager, the team and the work. The pay being offered was also quite good in comparison to other startups. I turned down the offer since I ended up receiving a better offer, although it was a tough decision.
