The interview took 6 weeks in total. There were totally 5 rounds. I got a call from HR with routine questions like why I'm looking for a change, employment authorization, etc. Then I got a take-home test. The duration of this test was 1 hr. Standard QA questions mostly focusing on Test case design, Sprint, etc. You need to do a lot of writing. After clearing this I got a call from HR for scheduling the next round which is a call with Senior QA Engineer for 1 hr. This was again straight forward round where Senior QA engineer asked all sorts of questions regarding the testing process, test case design, sprint. After clearing this I got a call from HR to schedule an onsite visit. Once I gave my schedule, and a date was finalized for my onsite visit. Here I would meet 5 people in total with everyone taking 45 mins each. First I spoke with a SQA manager. he asked me a wide range of questions related to testing mostly. asked for solutions to their day to day testing problems. Second I met a software engineer, I was wondering what is a software engineer doing in the interview panel for a SQA position. But this is their standard process and he asked all math-related questions. Then I met a Senior SQA Engineer. I believe this was the best round. The question he asked me was a brain teaser, and everything was related to testing. Then I had 15 mins break after which I met the TPM who handles both testing and dev teams. He asked me typical TPM questions. After this, I met another SQA Engineer and again all the questions were related to their day to day problems they face in testing. Since Zoox is into building autonomous driving cars, expect all questions related to this. Do a good amount of research on the Autonomous driving system.
After the onsite interview which went really well, I was asked for another onsite where I was scheduled to meet top executives like Director and Sr QA Manager. This was mostly talking with executives and they test you where exactly you fit in their ecosystem. After this, I got a call from HR exactly 2 days after last onsite, which was mostly for salary negotiation offer explanation.
All the people are very friendly and HR is very quick to respond to your questions and results. I felt very good after all the rounds since it took nearly 6 weeks. But the interview is really fun and if you know testing fundamentals you would easily clear the interview. They just don't hire people in bulk but they hire the right talent. After completion of all rounds, I felt really good as it brings satisfaction with respect to the questions being put forth to you at various stages of the interview.
