1-2. Two preliminary calls to gauge my background.
3. Technical review call. Given prompt in advance. Given a few days to prepare. Technical call to gauge my aptitude in handling the problem.
4. In Person Interview (~2 weeks later).
- 6 hour interview total
- 30m Technical Presentation.
- 45m Math and Reasoning analysis with aspect ratio, geometry and statistics testing.
- Three 45m meetings with cross-functional team members and management.
- 45m meeting with Director of Group - technical conversation with prompts he came up with on the spot.
i. Proposed we have a rigid-body quad copter: Q: How many degrees of freedom? How many degrees of control? How do you generate lift, acceleration, and torques in and about each controllable axis?
ii. Given diagram of control software and harware for a UAV. Q: How would you test this? HIL, SIL? what inputs would you use? How would you verify your results?
- 45m interview with someone from different team. He seemed like a jumper but had ties back to the group. Put up a picture of a Mass Spring Damper system on the board. Had me write the EOM and develop a controller based on it.
