The Zuora recruiter reached out to me through LinkedIn. After a few weeks of going back and forth, the recruiter set up on site interviews with the management team at Foster City HQ. The recruiter and management team seemed very nice during the process. I found the sales execs to be tougher with the interview questions, but that was expected.
The post-interview stage was when the recruiting process fell apart. It took over a month to receive even basic feedback on the interviews. On multiple occasions I reached out to the recruiter, only to hear back two weeks later that the feedback was "very positive" and that the recruiter was getting in touch with the hiring manager regarding "next steps". By month two of experiencing a lack of response and closure on the process (which is typical bad behavior I have experienced by many Silicon Valley tech companies), I indicated that I was no longer interested in Zuora and was moving on with my job search. At that point, the recruiter pulled me back into the process and we agreed to set up phone calls with the hiring manager and two other employees. After all three conversations were completed---(and IMO they seemed to go pretty well), the recruiter went silent again---even after communicating that they were still "moving forward". We had even talked about a starting date at that time. I have since moved on but wanted to warn interview candidates that this company has poor recruiting practices. It's a small valley so I am very surprised to receive this type of treatment as a senior level candidate. It certainly does not help the Zuora brand or reputation.
