Firstly, I was told an interview time with the department manager, then they had to schedule me earlier and with the director because the manager wasn’t available and I was okay with this. The day of, I asked for the director, and the manager came out and conducted the entire interview. They asked general questions related to the job. I was told that the director was in an interview with someone else, and she would be in later on in the interview. The director did come in, and stayed for maybe 5 minutes? I was told during the interview by the both of them that my experience was impressive. At the end, the manager had said that the decision was ultimately up to the director (that was barely present during the hour and a half interview). When I got their generic email stating they wouldn’t be moving forward, I reached out to the HR generalist that I was working with for feedback, and she had told me that per their notes, I did not have the experience they were looking for, even though they liked me as a candidate. She had recommended a different position that I was interested in and we had a phone call to discuss this and that is when she told me that it was her last day with the company. She told me that she would forward my information to the manager of that department and I haven’t heard from them since.
