      Technical Lead Interview

      Jun 27, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Gurgaon, Haryana
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at adidas (Gurgaon, Haryana) in May 2022

      Interview

Initially, I got a call from the adidas Gurgaon HR to know some basic details about my skill set. This was kind of resume screening. After this, I was asked to give Round 1. In round 1, a lot of skills were looked into: Java 8, Data Structure, Spring Boot, Microservices, Database & Kafka. Much focus is on problem solving (i.e. DSA questions - I was asked 2 questions), kafka architecture, Microservice architecture, Functional interfaces, java 8 streams, junit, dockerfile. I cleared this round. Then, immediately got the invite for 2nd round - Technical with a technical manager. Again, Kafka was asked along-with design patterns (Composite, Strategy, Decorator), Spring Cloud, No SQL database uses. I got through this round as well. Immediately got to know through HR that I have cleared the process and my candidature is being taken forward.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Round 1: 1) Duplicates in an array in O(n) time and O(1) space. 2) Left-view of a binary tree. 3) Kafka producer-consumer lag. 4) Convert list to map using streams. and others I dont remember, but they were on basic concepts. Round 2: 1) kafka working and architecture. 2) Design patterns as above. and some other basic questions.

      Technical Lead Interview

      Sep 14, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Herzogenaurach
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at adidas (Herzogenaurach) in Jul 2017

      Interview

It all started with one of the recruiters reaching me and discussing the possible position. Then they set up a technical interview with two members of the team. Nothing extra ordinary regular questions related to work and past experiences mostly behavioral ones. Passed it and invited to onsite interview to HQ. All the trip expenses issued by them. Onsite interview is nothing extra ordinary chat about the team I will be working, mostly behavioral questions and some technical questions related to their current technical setup which they are trying to make better. I passed this stage and week later received an offer letter on the phone for Technical Lead position. This is where things start to get weird in the process. Recruiter stated that this role has salary boundaries to show that there is not much room for negotiation. That is understandable for a big company if you are providing right numbers. While we are going over the details of the offer to reach agreement on numbers unexpectedly she sent the official offer letter with numbers she thinks we settled on. While there are a couple of days to notice period of the contract because of the personal issues I requested an extension for the offer. They provided that and extended offer one week. In the mean time I could not get much answers related to position, concerns, life at there, offer details. Constantly bounced emails between different people with really long response time. I stated my current concerns and how the offer is not helping those and since I interviewed with other companies I stated the offers I had. Seems like they did not like that, even though I did not requested any salary match regarding other offers, just showed that their offer is not fair and following the reasons & solutions to fix that. We passed extension period and they were still discussing the option of raise and as expected they rejected the raise. As last time they asked if I reach to a conclusion while I was trying to reach the person whom I will report. I eventually reached him a day later and asked all my concerns and we concluded the conversation with him asking if I am positive about the contract and I replied yes with a mail following half an hour later with accepting the offer. While expecting a warm welcome it was 2 days of nothing and at the end of the week, there was a mail from the recruiter who started the process stating that offer is invalid and I did not provide the response within their respected time. The whole process of getting the offer and accepting it was a big joke and tells too much about the company and how it is structured. There are communication issues between people which should be in contact all the time. I bounced between different HR people and had to tell the story from start to each one. While I asked if I accept the job from one HR person other invalidate the offer 2 days later. They are not a technology company & worked with (still do actually) external/outsource developers in the past without internal software department so there is a big chance that they are inexperienced at hiring software developers.
