I applied for a role that I was more than qualified for. The hiring team through each phase seemed extremely disorganized.
After initially applying, they scheduled a phone interview where they immediately told me the role wasn’t actually available but then tried to push me towards a low-paying customer service role. I explained that I was applying for a position paying $60,000+ a year and was not interested in a $16/hour position, especially with my extensive management experience. They said they would keep my application on file.
True to their word, a few weeks later they contacted me for the position that I applied for, and I went through multiple rounds of interviews. The hiring team was just as disorganized this time around. In the end, I didn’t get the position. I was ok with this, as the entire process left me extremely uneasy. I later found out that they hired someone else with a fraction of the experience that I had. The position was reposted shortly after and has been posted multiple times since. They’re either struggling to keep someone in the role or they’re using it to lure people in for other positions. Extremely odd.
A year or so later, I saw another position that intrigued me, despite my previous experience. I was even more qualified for this position than the first, but my experience applying was exactly the same.
They kept trying to pigeonhole me into a basic, hourly customer service position, despite my qualifications. After repeatedly telling them I was not interested in that role, I asked if the role I had applied for was actually available. Only then did they stop pushing me towards the hourly position and truly move forward with the interview. At that point, they gave me a solid date and time to be available via video chat, refusing to be flexible when I explained I had a previously scheduled work commitment. Red flags all around. Seriously, what company refuses to work with the candidate on the timing of the interview? If you're not interested, just tell me. Don't waste my time.
I had applied with another company at the same time, went through multiple rounds of interviews, and was hired all while trying to get through the basic steps with Athena. I withdrew my application at that point. If the interview process is that bad, imagine how bad they are to work for.
I know multiple people in the area who have worked for them and left. They’ve confirmed what I suspected based on my short interactions. If you do get hired here, be prepared. They’ve done multiple highly publicized mass layoffs. Just a mess of a company. User reviews aren’t great either.
