My answer should have been (after reading up more about HIPAA) that discussing patient case is a violation of the HIPAA privacy rules one because patient didn’t not give permission to talk about her, and two discussion in an unsecured location is not permitted since you can be overheard, and three does the person you are discussing then personal matter need to know this information and how much they should know. So say she’s a team member from another department then she doesn’t need to know.
