A question like this is usually preceded by some information as to the mandate, responsibilities and expectations, so, essentially the interview began with a sink-or-swim question.

This was an initial interview, so we didn't go deep into my experience. He was selling me on the company, and only asked a few questions about how my background would relate to the role he was pitching.
What sort of manager would you be? (from somebody I would be line managing!)
What is a brand that you feel is successfully marketing/communicating to its audience, and what is a brand that you feel is falling short?
How much writing do you do in your current role? (i.e. blogs, etc)
