Driver Interview Questions

Driver Interview Questions

Drivers are responsible for many different transporting duties and drive a variety of vehicles, working primarily for hotels, delivery services, and restaurants. While each company will have its own preferences as to what they're looking for, you'll almost always encounter interview questions regarding general driving rules and your driving experience, situational questions, and questions designed to assess your customer service and interpersonal skills.

Top Driver Interview Questions & How to Answer

Question 1

Question #1: What types of vehicles are you licensed to drive?

How to answer
How to answer: This question, though very simple, is extremely important and used to gauge an applicant's versatility and skill. List all types of vehicles you're licensed to drive and how much experience you have with each. It's important to answer honestly here; most companies don't conduct driving tests. Although they're typically asked for later, it wouldn't hurt to have licenses or documents on hand.
Question 2

Question #2: What, if any, vehicle maintenance work are you able to perform?

How to answer
How to answer: Even if you aren't a trained mechanic, any automotive knowledge you may have will set you higher in the ranks among applicants. Changing tires, oil, and other fluids, and any other general motor maintenance skills are all worth mentioning. Make sure to include less mechanical, daily tasks like filling gas tanks, car washes, and detail work. Anything outside of the realm of basic responsibilities speaks highly of an applicant's work ethic.
Question 3

Question #3: How do you stay focused while driving for prolonged periods?

How to answer
How to answer: This question is meant to determine how many hours per day an applicant is able to work safely. There are many ways to stay awake and alert while on the road like drinking coffee, tea, or energy drinks. Rolling windows down for fresh air or listening to upbeat music can focus you while you drive. Whatever your trick is, sharing it will show your love of being on the road.

this is not necessarily a question but it was more of a request that if I take the sales position to please give me or set me up with a direct manager who was older than me this way they could teach me more about the company, the basics and also just about life because they have been on this earth longer than I have so what that means to me is that a lot of people look to take short cuts with things,,even simple, things. I like to learn from a more, experienced person who can show me many different reasons and outcomes so that I can choose to take a better road and not cut corners. that's basically how I was brought up in the car business at the age of 19 and it has been a proven track record for me
