I applied online. I interviewed at eBay (San Luis Obispo, CA)
Interview
I applied to multiple eBay internship positions. Knowing how competitive these positions are, I got in contact with a few recruiters via LinkedIn. They looked over my resume, said they were impressed with my background/experience, and was scheduled for a sequential interview. It was an hour and a half total, spending 45 minutes with a member of the marketing team and the other with one of the marketing directors. The first interview was relatively straight-forward, not a question I hadn't prepared for. The second was the opposite. The interviewer would ask me a question and I would begin answering it, relating my own marketing experience to the question. She interrupted my answers multiple times asking how my experiences in marketing related to finance and accounting. After she watched me looking confused for a moment, she asked me if I had even looked at the job description. I told her of course and that I had done a lot of preparation and research as to the position. She looked at me like I was stupid and proceeded to send me links to simple definitions to marketing terms in the zoom chat. At one point, she passive aggressively told me that I should have prepared more, after I was only given a day's notice for the interview and spent that entire day preparing. After the interview, I immediately went back to the job description and looked it over to make sure I hadn't missed any details about the position requiring experience in finance or accounting. I hadn't. Still confused as to what she was talking about. It was the worst interview experience I'd ever had. Needless to say I did not get a call back and the entire process felt degrading.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (Berlin) in Aug 2021
Interview
My first interview was mostly about my CV and my Skills as well as soft skills and if my personality would fit. For the second Interview I was given a case study where I had to prepare a Power Point for and present it to two colleagues. Everything seemed to be more personality based.
