I applied online. I interviewed at ifm efector (Oakbrook Terrace, IL)
Interview
First you meet with HR, then if that goes well you take a few tests. If that goes well you interview with the hiring manager. This is where I had the bad experience, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DEGREE IN ENGINEERING. You may as well not even bother, I could tell I was being dismissed within 5 minutes, he spent the other 10 grilling me on my major and what I thought I could do with it. Really made me mad. Even though on the application is says 0-2 years experience, and any degree may apply.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at ifm efector
Interview
The first interview was a standard vetting process by someone in HR. I liked the interview and thought I could see myself at this company. It was pretty easy, just be polite and advocate for yourself. Also ask questions to the interviewer to show your enthusiasm. After the interview I was told that I had advanced to the next round which is the Bennett mechanical aptitude test. There's practice tests online. I aced the mechanical test and moved on to the Caliper personality test round. I did not pass the personality test apparently. I say apparently because I GOT GHOSTED BY THE HIRING TEAM. Through reddit research I have come to the conclusion that something in my personality test indicated that aspects of my personality are "not coachable" and thus boom I'm no longer a candidate for the job.
My advice is: do not show a speck of empathy/feelings/sympathy on the personality test - they will ghost you.

Met with HR specialist then referred notes to hiring manager. HR specialist asked about various situations in the workplace that give a show of character and fit for the position.
The interview as very straight forward and got right to the point. Not much of a conversation and more just drilling questions. The questions asked were basic interview questions. Used microsoft team meetings.
