Not much, job description just said knowledge of java+sql and willingness to learn big data. On phone he was nice and I felt good about the job, but the test was another problem. The coding portion of the test was simple, no longer than 1 hour. There is a issue though that you will have to examine tha is something I never really dealt with(probably most jr level people), and I thought that if he expects you to know this inside and out even if you said you dont know big data then how is this question even asked... and on top of that its a deal breaker if he doesn't like your answers(no points for thought process that led to your answer just because they are wrong)... other interview responses here are very accurate. Test could take 4+ hours if your new to the subject(heap analysis) like I was.. unless you know you can answer every question about the test then just pass cuz its a waste of time if you have other interviews lined up. If you do know the answers, write a very good report on it then maybe hell give you a chance for an actual interview on site with what the recruiter said is another technical assessment. At least this process moves fast, phone interview with recruiter + vp of dev + test results all within 1 week. Recruiter was pleasant to work with but that was the only good experience sadly. Company did sound pretty cool though so I really wanted to work there, they said they had several engineer teams and it sounded pretty successful in a good location.
