Also if you initially apply for the CIR or SEA role but end up interviewing for the ALT role instead, they might be a bit prickly about it. My interviewer asked "Well, you didn't apply for the ALT role to start with, so do you even care about teaching children or do you just want a way to get to Japan?" It was pretty intense, and even though I did have plenty of positive things to say about teaching, the way that question was asked did throw me off for a few seconds!
