I applied online. I interviewed at lululemon (Vancouver, BC) in May 2024
Interview
I had a first interview with HR. This was standard except that at the beginning of the interview, she asked if I wanted to speak about anything that has troubled me these last few years since the pandemic and everything else that’s been going on in the world. “Create a safe space” was the intention but they don’t actually care about candidates as you’ll come to see with the rest of the story. My second interview was supposed to be with 2 people from the team. One never showed up and the woman that was on the call was the creative director, and clearly unwell and on some kind of drowsy cold medication. She was wearing a mask (on a virtual interview) and seemed not all there. She barely asked me anything. I led the interview and proposed topics to go over and shared projects from my portfolio. Her answers were like “wow that is soooo nice, thank you for sharing.” The interview was very relaxed and we chatted about other stuff other than work but I felt as though she wouldn’t remember a thing from this conversation and no one was there to witness it. Of course, I was rejected after a few weeks and didn’t move on to the next interview. When I contacted the HR woman from my first interview to explain what happened during my interview, she never answered me back. Multiple emails and a phone call, and nothing. This felt so un fair given how hard it is to interview at lululemon and it was just a slap in the face that HR couldn’t even hear me out despite pretending to care. I also bent over backwards to take both of these interviews and prepare for them during a trip I was on, so what a waste of time.

Interview
Phone call. I was the first candidate to be interviewed. Interviewer sounded knowledgable but also in a rush.
Asked for my background, provided insights into the role and company, and answered any questions I had. Overall a pleasant conversation.
Told me to reach out in two weeks if I did not hear back.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your background and how it applies to the role.
Did a pre-screening to see if we were aligned at first, if I knew the adobe, how I work best, if I would be okay in a hybrid-role, if I knew how to create e-mails within Figma

Interview
I applied online and had them reach out to schedule an initial phone screening. I was asked to move on to an additional interview with the hiring manager, then told a decision would be made within a few weeks. In this time, I did one other interview with a higher level design manager. I was told I’d hear back within a week but they ended up ghosting me, even after I reached out to see if there were updates. Other than the ghosting, they were communicative and things moved very efficiently, but no response after 3 interviews was disappointing.
