The initial application process included written pre-screening questions about business units supported, goals, and reasons for interest in the role. I took the time to provide thoughtful and comprehensive answers, but there was no indication that they were ever reviewed.
The standard strengths/weaknesses questions happened in the first two HR-led interviews (Items 1 and 2 above). Once into items 3 and following, questions were like: 1) How do you go about doing editorial planning? 2) Talk about your editing style, particularly working with writers of varying experience. 3) What is it about B2B writing that appealed to me? (I was coming from a largely B2C background) 4) What would my most recent boss say was my strength? 5) What would that same person say was the biggest challenge working with me? 6) The CEO dropped in and asked me to describe myself in 4 words. That caught me off guard, actually.
