Manager Engineering Interview Questions
8,485 manager engineering interview questions shared by candidates
I received no interview questions, but it shouldn't take over a month to reject an applicant for an engineering management role. Either you know what you're looking for or you don't--no need to waste candidates' time. LinkedIn also said the job posting I applied for had already been up for 2 months (!) by the time I applied, too. The job posting was still up by the time I was rejected. I can't imagine what interview protocol the company is following if they can't hire a single engineering manager within a quarter, when there are a million qualified candidates available right now due to industry layoffs.

a. 1st interview was mostly on Multi threading, generics, more of java essentials b. He gave a design problem and asked for probable approaches c. In the 2nd round, interviewer explained the overall team structure and what each team in the project is doing and where i will be working on. Incidentally he was also more focussed on the same design problem given by the first interviewer and most of the questions were almost same as that of the 1st interviewer. Looks like they are running out of interview questions d. 3rd round was a casual talk on my managerial skills and difficult situations i faced and how i handled it. e. in the 4th round questions like how do you design twitter was asked...i tried scoping it to a reasonable problem for discussion and the interviewer was quite happy with my approach. 2 days later HR called and said so far everything is positive and the director wants to talk to you over skype. f. In the skype round, questions related to what is the toughest problem i solved and how i did it.and questions related to management style etc. few days later, HR said all interviewers gave a consistent positive review. He sent a mail saying we would like to offer you.before that send me your payslip. I sent and after that there was complete silence. I tried reaching the HR over phone and mail. He just avoided me. I was baffled with such an unprofessional behavior from an esteemed organization. It definitely sheds a poor light on the way Paypal chennai handles the candidates. Having undergone 6 rounds of interview and HR replying that they wanted to offer, and finally keeping silent without providing any response shows how poorly Paypal HRs behave. Feeling really bad to have wasted my time there.
