Summary: great process, but disappointing/confusing outcome.
I applied for the job on Thursday night and received a phone screen request on Friday morning. The interview was the following Friday.
Honestly, I'm not sure what the point of the phone screen was. The interviewer spent the entire time talking about nVent; I could barely get a word in edgewise. He asked about my expected TC and told me to "Get [Bay Area] compensation out your head right now." I found the tone really disrespectful and unprofessional. He also seemed to bristle at me not wanting to tie to myself down to a salary range or vacation time right off the bat and saying I'd negotiate my offer.
Nonetheless, he said he'd pass me along to the hiring manager, whose name he'd given me.
I sent a Thank You email asking about the medium of the hiring manager discussion (phone or video) but was told she decided to move on with other candidates.
I replied with an email the following day commending nVent for their pacing and asking for feedback, but got no response. I've reached out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn and hope to hear back soon.
