"Paramedics play a crucial role in saving lives through their medical, judgement, and time management skills. To be considered for employment, candidates must first be certified by state. Interviewers will be interested in hearing what compels you to work in emergency medical services, your knowledge of protocol, and how you handle difficult situations. In addition, you may be tested on how you prioritize patients when there are too many cases at once. To show that you are the ideal candidate, emphasize that you are highly motivated and can operate until stressful situations."

Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult person and explain how you handled it.
Interview questions; Why do you want to be a paramedic? Why have you chosen to apply to EEAST? Can you define what equality means? Can you define what diversity means? Clinical scenario 1: You are called to a ?56 year old male with difficulty in breathing. The patient is bariatric, his flat is on the 6th floor and there is no lift. Please discuss your assessment and treatment as well as how you may utilise other resources available when extricating? Clinical scenario 2: You are called to a ?83 year old female cancer palliative care patient who is in peri arrest. She is conscious albeit with reduced GCS. Her family are on scene and are arguing amongst each other about whether she should be resuscitated or not should she go into cardiac arrest. The family members are vague in giving a medical history and there is minimal paperwork in the environment to refer to. Talk through the ethical considerations of such a situation and discuss a plan. Clinical scenario 3: Whilst on scene at a job, your crew mate expresses that they have a safeguarding concern. What do you do? Clinical scenario 4: you are on a job where endotracheal intubation is required. You have not performed this skill in a while and don’t feel confident to perform it safely. What can you do / who can you call in such a situation?
