Why the Borgen Project?
The most difficult part of the application for me was selecting which bureaus I wanted to apply for because each facet of the Department of State is so diverse and every opportunity interested me. Once chosen as a preferred candidate, you must go through a background check. This background check includes a private investigator coming to interview you and learn everything about your past. Be honest about everything.
