It took eight months to reach the one-on-one interview stage with the GCF. During this period, I meticulously prepared a comprehensive presentation over two weeks, anticipating an in-depth discussion. However, to my disappointment, the panelists did not ask any questions. The cluster/node lead appeared to lack the necessary experience, and one of the senior panelists was preoccupied with their phone throughout the session. After spending eight months on the application process, I just received a generic rejection email. From my experience, it seems that applying to the GCF is not a productive endeavor unless you are from Asia or India, as they seem to prioritize candidates from these regions. For others, the process feels like a mere tick-box exercise, offering little to no genuine opportunity for progression.
