There was a standard I used several years ago. It came up during the interview. I was not prepared for that.

They asked me, “Why do you think you’d be a good fit for this role?” but before I could really explain my experience, the interviewer cut me off and said, “Everyone says that. What makes you actually different?” It caught me off guard because it felt more like a challenge than a genuine question, and the tone made it hard to give a confident answer. It definitely added to the awkward vibe of the whole interview.
