Q: How would you design a system to integrate payroll and benefits information from multiple vendors? What did you answer? I described how I would design the data model, entities, and APIs, and considered scalability. However, the interviewer expected detailed payroll domain knowledge, which was not provided in the problem statement and is not something most candidates would know without prior experience.
