What operation exists for volatile variable but doesn't exist for AtomicReference? And she also said that the question may seem not correct for me. Well, I asked - In what context do you mean "operation"? I can answer in terms of their use cases (i.e. why and when one should be used instead of another). She answered that she didn't know what is the context but if I constantly use them I should understand the question that she doesn't find correct herself. That is ok for the person just comparing answers with the paper. Then I said that I don't understand the question.
