Three hours before the interview was scheduled, I received an email that they were canceling the interview because they "went with another candidate for this position." I had no problem with this, I understand that school districts can find a really good candidate and hire them on the spot. At the time I applied for the job at Mannheim Middle School, the Frontline/Applitrack website was a little glitchy so I was unable to download my application for my personal records. So after the bilingual director emailed me, I had responded whether the position had already been taken because I wanted to log in and download my application. The next day, I checked and the position was still posted and I was able to download my application without a problem. However, I did think that it was odd for the position to still be posted since they hired someone and in the meantime they had posted another position, so clearly they were actively updating their job listings. Well, two days later, the Middle School Spanish position was still posted. I asked a friend who is also looking for a job to call and see if the job was still available. He was told that, yes, the position was still open and to go ahead and apply online. As an educator I pride myself on my professionalism and integrity. I would expect school district administrators to value those same principles. I am ok with not getting an interview or an offer, by why tell me the position has been filled if it hasn't? Don't they realize that as I continue to search, the position will keep coming up. And if it indeed has been filled, then why continue taking applications for the position? It's not fair to the person to whom the position has been offered. They should have just said "you are not a good fit" or "we decided not to offer you the position". Either way, whether they lied to me and said that the position was filled or whether they actually hired someone and are still interviewing for the position, it seems they are being dishonest. I would not want to work for a school district that operates in this fashion.

Mostly standard interview questions. The panel interview asked me to demonstrate how I would sell something that I do not particularly like.
What's a product or food that you don't like? How would you sell it to me (in Spanish)?
