I guess the question that failed me is the last question, what is your expectation in the future. I answered that I am going to master the skills in this role and probably transfer into more investment based role. They told me this showed that I did't have right motivation for the role, because the job is only about business administration such as recruitment, support the team etc. Thet also told me because I enjoyed very much about the research I have did in university so I am not suitable for this role, that I should choose a career that suits me. They refused me at the end of interview. I have attended many interviews but this one might be the one that makes me most confused. I was confused about they emphasized that because because I showed my interest in university so this job is not for me as there are many people who chose to work in an industry thot has nothing to do with their studies in the university. I was also confused about the reasons of rejection as I showed my interest for my transition to more investment focused role. It is understandable that in a big company, transition among teams is not encouraged, but they also set rotations for employees. I was confused that in a company with this size, the function of role is still seperated to a high level. It indicates that the career progession and continous learning is not actually expected in the company as outlined in their values, because you can't show your interest in other areas. I would recommend the interviewees in the future to give a simple preparation to this role, because you won't predict what triggers the company.
